Author’s Note: A curious mind

An educator and storyteller that loves to encourage others to develop new ideas and expand their perception. In the classroom I rely on connecting new knowledge with students’ experiences and I take a similar approach to my writing. Using relatable stories to connect with readers and inspire curious minds like mine to explore the human condition. This is the essence of Narrative Curiosity to learn through sharing a range of stories and broaden our understanding of each other.

But who am I:

I’m a nobody with a couple of university degrees, a home, a lovely wife, and a son. This hardly makes me unique, but like anyone who reads a lot I’m a dreamer and to an extent an idealist who believes that if you have the will to do something you just keep trying until you break through. It’s this mentality that keeps me going, especially now as I navigate my transition in a sadly increasingly frightening world. It also motivated me to create and express myself, whether it is writing a Sonnet to propose, giving my opinions on the latest technology, painting my nails, or cooking a three-course meal I am constantly active and finding pleasure in these moments of self-expressions.

Working for others

As a transwomen in seeking to expand understanding and challenging misconceptions I am always working to support my wider LGBTQIA community. Through sharing parts of my experiences I hope to validate others and help spread hope for those struggling in a hostile world.
