Making the word count; the challenge of writing for competitions
Currently, as I am working on my latest story and trying hard to make the word count, I thought it was the perfect time to reflect on a couple of the challenges of writing for competitions.

Lines composed out of frustration and depression
The writer reflects on the loneliness of always being the organizer in social situations, feeling dejected when friends and family do not reciprocate. Despite the desire for connection and spontaneity, they experience frustration during canceled plans and a lack of invitations, which intensifies feelings of isolation and self-doubt.

Lines composed to free my mind from the haunting shadows of things past
Struggle at the moment with lingering emotions after a long-term relationship while attempting to co-parent with my Ex. Weekly interactions reignite some complex feelings, leading to self-reflection and probably some average poetry.
